Biography
Dr. Wilson is a Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of New Mexico and serves as Interim Chief of the Division of Urology and Section Chief of Pediatric Urology. He holds board certifications in Pediatric Urology and Urology and received recognition for Best Educator, Division of Urology, at the UNM School of Medicine in 2023. He teaches Case-Based Learning on Pediatric Genitourinary Conditions and has been co-director of Medical Student Education for pre-doctoral students, as well as teaching many other courses to medical students.
Dr. Wilson earned his MD from The University of Texas at San Antonio Health Science Center in 1996 and completed his internship in surgery in 1997 and residency in urology in 2001 at UNM. He completed a Pediatric Urology Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, in 2007.
Personal Statement
In addition to my clinical practice, teaching, and research, I have done medical mission work in both Lima, Peru, where I performed Pediatric urologic procedures with local physicians, as well as in San Salvador, El Salvador, where I both worked with and educated local pediatric surgeons on complex pediatric urologic procedures.
