UNM Hosts COVID-Themed Behavioral Health Seminar for Spanish Speakers

COVID-19 has created hard times for New Mexicans throughout the state whether or not they have personally had the disease, as everyone works their way through the havoc created by stress, anxiety and grief.

On Wednesday, September 29, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center will host an online behavioral health seminar for the Spanish-speaking community with the goal of providing dialogue and guidance on the effects of COVID.

Speakers at the event will be Celia Valdez, MD, associate professor for Family & Community Medicine, and Jaye “Jaxcy” Odom, PsyD, a UNM clinical psychologist practicing at the SRMC mental health clinic.

The seminar will run from noon to 1 p.m. and is free to the public. Community members will be able to dial in via Zoom and ask questions on behalf of themselves and family.

The seminar is open to any interested community member. The Zoom link for the seminar is  https://hsc-unm.zoom.us/j/96970733112.
