Club Santos Soccer Players To Visit UNM Children’s Hospital Nov. 14

Young patients will get autographs, swag

Team members of Club Santos Laguna Mexican professional football club, six-time Mexican Champions and 2018 champions of Liga MX, will be visiting young patients at UNM Children's Hospital Wednesday, November 14, at 11:30 a.m. in the Child Life unit. Club Santos is in Albuquerque for a November 14 exhibition match against Tigres UNAL at Isotopes Park.

Kids will meet midfielder Osvaldo Martinez and defensive midfielder Diego De Buen, along with Luis Canay, physical trainer, and Juan Pablo Rodriguez, assistant coach and former player.

The group will tour the hospital and visit children who can't leave their beds. They'll then host a group activity at 11:30 a.m. with kids in Child Life where they can kick soccer balls around, take photos, sign autographs and give away Santos jackets, stuffed toys and stickers. Santos players also will give away tickets for the game to patients and their families.

Media are invited for the 11:30 a.m. activities and interview(s)/pix/video with kids/team members/sponsors/supporters in Child Life only, but must confirm attendance with Luke Frank by Wednesday at 10am. No media will be allowed in the units. Media will be met in the UNM Hospital Barbara & Bill Richardson Pavilion lobby and escorted to UNM Children's Hospital's Child Life unit.
