Sandoval Regional Medical Center Receives Renewed Accreditation from The Joint Commission

Rio Rancho, NM - Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) recently received notification its accreditation from The Joint Commission was renewed for another three years.

"We are proud to have been given our latest accreditation by The Joint Commission," said SRMC CEO Jamie Silva Steel. "This is truly a reflection of excellence on behalf of our physicians and staff at all levels of operation of our hospital."

The Joint Commission is the nation's oldest accrediting organization and is responsible for certifying more than 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. To obtain accreditation, an institution must demonstrate it is in continuous compliance with performance standards for medical operations.

"Our accreditation helps hospitals enhance their risk management and risk reduction strategies. We commend SRMC for its efforts to become a quality improvement organization," said Mark G. Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Division of Accreditation and Certification Operations, The Joint Commission in making the announcement.
