The Center for Forensic Imaging will:

  • side view of skull xrayConduct and foster innovative and validating clinical and translational research using the assets of a high volume medical examiner office, state of the art imaging modalities, and radiology and pathology faculty and trained technical personnel.
  • Develop postmortem imaging protocols that support the clinical mission of OMI/UNMH and other outside entities.
  • Use imaging technology to support public health and safety and allow OMI to be sensitive to the cultural and religious beliefs of our citizens about autopsy
  • Develop education and training for pathologists, radiologists and technologists that allows imaging technology to be implemented in medical examiner offices throughout the US.
