CTSC Pilot Application Instructions and Templates

This page provides instructions and templates for investigators applying for CTSC Pilot Funding. Pilot proposals should focus on concise communication of the relevant information. This will help to demonstrate effective proposal writing and communication skills, and the likelihood of success in developing the full, competitive proposals to follow these pilots.

Application Process:

1. Choose an Funding Opportunity below
2. Submit a Pilot Pre-Proposal - Pilot Pre-Proposals are limited to 2 pages and should include the following:
   • The pre-proposal should include a title, a description of objectives/aims, the most innovative and novel aspects of your proposed research, a description of how the project can be completed in 12 months, and must directly address how the project meets the definition of Translational Science.
   • A brief budget overview. Investigators should meet with CTSC Research Concierge at HSC-CTSCResearchConcierge@salud.unm.edu to develop a budget for CTSC services.
     • Additional documents (not included in the 2-page limit):
       • Bio sketch for the PI
       • letter of support from your Department Chair/Dean noting your qualifications, availability of protected time, and the potential impact of your work.

3. If selected for full application:

• Follow the Full Application Instructions
  
• Use the templates to develop the proposal
• Review the Frequently Asked Questions
• Submit online through Camino

The Camino online application system can only be accessed if you are logged into the HSC secure network (on campus or through vpn).  The Camino application works best using Google Chrome or Firefox.
