Set Up and Training

CTSC services will help in the preparation of investigator's experiments or train investigator's staff to perform assays.  This service is available for investigators who have staff, post-doctorates, and fellows etc. who do not have experience performing the assays within their study but would like to learn the technology. All reagents, test kits, and consumables are provided by the investigator. The CTSC T-Laboratory will provide skilled expertise and training procedures for investigators staff, post-doctorates, fellows etc. As well as, standard operating procedures, calibration, maintenance, trouble shooting, set-up and shut-down of all equipment in the CTSC T-Laboratory.

Performs testing for investigator following detailed protocol provided by investigator
Trains investigators staff on equipment or techniques for testing

Provides guidance and assistance for study design, protocol development and assay development

Specimen Processing

Low Complexity

• Urine sample from cup to tube to centrifuge
• Single sample that requires one transfer tube
• Single sample that requires 2 transfer tubes but no centrifuge
• Single sample that requires one blood smear
• Single sample that requires centrifuge only
• Single sample that requires timing at room temperature, then freezing

Medium Complexity

• Single sample that requires centrifuge twice and 1 transfer tube
• Single sample that requires 2-5 transfer tubes at a single time point

High Complexity

• Single sample that requires more than 5 transfer tubes at a single time point
