Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I wanted to join a pediatric residency program that builds positive relationships between residents and attending physicians and emphasizes high quality training in an academic centered environment. Our hospital captures a diverse population of patients across the whole state and beyond; you will have a unique experience providing care for patients from all backgrounds, especially those who are under-served, and you will develop the skills you need to be a competent physician and a strong advocate for children and their families.
Albuquerque has a lot to offer. The city is rich with culture. There are plenty of activities for everyone, including the outdoor enthusiasts, the artists or music lovers, and of course, the foodies like myself!
Lastly, the faculty went out of their way to make my interview experience special. Residents here are genuinely happy, everyone treats you like family, and I immediately felt at home.
