Challenging Times

In support and solidarity for the communities who are experiencing more than usual challenging times.

MEMORANDUM

To:
UNM College of Pharmacy Affiliates & Community Members

From:
UNM College of Pharmacy - Diversity, Equity, Accessibility & Inclusion Committee

Date:
August 11, 2022

We the UNM COP Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion (DEAI) Committee are responding in solidarity and support for the Muslim and western New Mexico indigenous communities experiencing extraordinary disruptions and challenging times:

Concerns affecting a particular community are affecting all of us. At UNM COP we nurture an environment where all students can succeed in their academic endeavors. We are reaching out to each of you, to remind you of the following safety and support services available to everyone:

If you feel that any student may be in need of support and outreach, please reach out to LoboRESPECT Advocacy (web: https://loborespect.unm.edu and by phone: 505-277-2911) directly and file a descriptive Campus Assessment Response Education (CARE) Report: https://care.unm.edu. The CARE Team will assess the situation and follow up with the student as needed. LoboRESPECT Advocacy, directed by Lisa Lindquist at ldelgado@unm.edu, will be supporting students in communicating with advisors and faculty about their needs and will assist with temporary scheduling changes and temporary shifts in modality, where possible and needed and on a case-by-case basis.

We stand together to uplift, protect and care for each other during this time of heightened fear and anxiety. Krista Salazar, PharmD is the College of Pharmacy DEAI Committee chair who is available to reach out for UNM COP DEAI needs and concerns at krsalazar@salud.unm.edu.

Sincerely,

On behalf of the UNM College of Pharmacy DEAI Committee,

Krista D. Salazar, PharmD, PhC
