Priorities & Impact of a New Building

• Include classrooms, offices, community hubs, a research wet lab and research space for both undergraduate and graduate students and faculty.
• Provide classrooms for active learning, including infrastructure for a wide array of program delivery methods available via individual devices and multiple large screens for both small and large group activities.
• Have community spaces that will include a student lounge and conference rooms that promote collaboration and interprofessional opportunities for students.
• Be home to a Computational Research Center that will greatly expand the ability to transfer large data between the College of Nursing and local state and federal agencies for developing solutions and responses to health crises.
• Be Silver LED certified, decreasing energy consumption by 50% or more.

This will allow us to:

• Expand recruitment and support for all our students.
• Bring everyone under one roof and provide space for student success services.
• Provide the tools, technology equipment and facilities required to support problem-based and active learning to meet nursing education for today and tomorrow.
• Recruit and retain expert nursing faculty and staff to educate the next generation of nurses, practitioners and scholars.
