The UNM College of Nursing Pre-Licensure BSN program follows different terms and calendars than the standard UNM calendar. This affects financial aid distributions during Summer terms. Review the Pre-Licensure BSN Academic Calendar.
Types of Summer aid offered include: the Pell grant, federal student loans, private student loans, Lottery Scholarship, UNM Presidential Scholarship, Woodward Scholarship, Amigo Scholarship, National Merit Scholarship and UNM Scholars Scholarship. State and institutional grants are not awarded in Summer terms.
The College of Nursing Financial Aid Office begins manually awarding Summer financial aid in April.
Per federal financial aid guidelines, certain undergraduate nursing programs must register for a minimum of 6 credits in order to be eligible for federal aid. Nursing students may be eligible for financial aid in the Summer. Contact the College's Financial Aid Office for more information.

The RN to BSN Degree Completion option follows an 8-week rotation of classes. Financial aid awards are disbursed during the second 8-week session of each term to ensure students meet enrollment requirements for receiving financial aid per federal regulations.
RN to BSN students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits during the Fall/Spring terms and 3 credits in the Summer term to receive financial aid. Review the RN to BSN Calendar.
RN-BSN students cannot set up payment plans.
RN to BSN students must pay for their courses on the first day of class or they will be dropped. If students have financial aid in place they will not be dropped. Students who have tuition remission, tuition reimbursement or other payments coming into UNM they need to let us (financial aid) know so they avoid being dropped.

Financial aid disburses three (3) business days prior to the first day of courses that term.
For term dates, please visit the UNM Registrar’s website or check your course schedule.
Students must be registered at least half-time and have a complete financial aid file in order for aid to be disbursed.
