The New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) has created this dedicated resource page to assist New Mexico District Attorneys, federal and U.S. Attorneys, as well as civil and defense attorneys. Here, you can arrange interviews, depositions, meetings, or hearing testimonies with OMI Forensic Pathologists and other staff members. This page offers essential contact information and access to submission forms necessary for all judicial activities.
For cases outside our jurisdiction, when prosecuted by the DOJ/US Attorney's Office rather than the District Attorney, individuals such as our professional staff are required to receive compensation to testify as experts. This must be arranged through the establishment of a contract provided by the DOJ/US Attorney via UNM Contracts and Grants.
To help coordinate please contact our subpoena specialist at 505-537-3776 or OMIJudicial@salud.unm.edu.
