The University of New Mexico Center for Participatory Research (UNM-CPR) was established within the Health Sciences Center (HSC) in 2009, bringing together 25 years of previous research, to promote equity-based community based participatory and community engaged research within UNM and with community and tribal partners across the state, across the nation, and internationally.
UNM-CPR partners with the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy; the HSC Offices of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Community Health; the Center for Native American Health (CNAH), multiple Colleges on main campus; CASAA; and the UNM Center for Social Policy.
CPR’s mission is to support a collaborative environment within UNM, aligned with core values of community partnership, social justice and respect for diverse narratives and worldviews in order to co-create new knowledge and translate existing knowledge to improve quality of life and health equity among New Mexico’s diverse populations and beyond.
