Graduate Student Organization

The Public Health Student Association (PHSA) is a graduate student organization for students admitted to the College of Population Health.

The purpose of PHSA shall be:

1. to promote interest in public health education, information and dialogue;
2. to provide academic and professional networking;
3. to lend support to incoming and current public health students
4. to raise funds for conferences, meetings, and activities that enhance the academic experiences of all members;
5. to promote social responsibility through community involvement and service;
6. to promote cooperation and communication among students, faculty and administration on issues related to public health; and
7. to motivate and recognize service and academic achievement.

Some examples of previous involvement include sponsoring membership fees for the NMPHA Health Policy Symposium, planning and implementing the 2020 APHA Student Champions for Climate Justice Initiative and advocating for students.

Officer elections will be held at our second meeting of the Fall 2022 semester.

Any member is eligible for office granted they are registered for a minimum of three (3) credit hours per semester. Those eligible must commit to participating in the planning and coordination of all events hosted by PHSA.
