The UNM Health Sciences Center held its first Vision 2020 Symposium in 2010; we have heard from many of our community partners through symposiums and community visits how we can be a better partner. As a result of these interactions, the leadership, faculty, and staff have been working hard to incorporate the vision of partnering with communities to improve health and health equity into their work. For many, this is the way they have been working for a long time and for others it has taken a shift in thinking to see how their work can improve health outcomes in our communities.
