About the Office of Professionalism

Historical WoodcutEstablished in July 2011 by Chancellor Paul Roth, the HSC Office of Professionalism is dedicated to promoting humane medical care, effective teaching environments, and a respectful work environment. 

The Office of Professionalism

  • coordinates activities throughout the HSC campus that encourage professionalism in clinical work, administration and in teaching.
  • contributes to the standardization across departments and institutions in the assessment of professional behavior. 
  • responds to reports of unprofessional behavior, and when appropriate provides recommendations to the involved parties and to HSC leadership.

The Director is Jonathan Bolton, M.D.  He reports to the HSC Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, John Trotter, PhD and to the HSC Executive Director, Faculty and Student Affairs, Leslie Morrison, M.D.
