Project ImPACT (Improving Parents as Communication Teachers) is an evidence-based parent-training and coaching program designed for young children with autism and related social communication delays. The program teaches parents strategies to help children develop social engagement, communication, imitation, and play skills during daily routines and play activities.
Parents will receive direct instruction on how to use the strategies and be given live feedback while practicing those strategies with their child. It meets through telehealth sessions on a weekly (ninety minutes) basis for twelve weeks. New Mexican children six years of age or younger, with a documented risk of autism spectrum disorder or social communication delays, are eligible to participate in the program.

Any family of a child under the age of seven (7) who is at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder or social communication delays.
Services are provided by trained coaches with a range of backgrounds including speech-language pathologists and psychologists.
Project ImPACT services are available in every county and corner of New Mexico through telehealth sessions.
At this time Project ImPACT is presented in English only. We are hoping to have Spanish presentations available in the future.
