Our community programs and partnerships aim to inspire and prepare those who are underrepresented to achieve their professional and educational aspirations. With participants ranging from elementary school students to career professionals, the HSC Office for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is committed to supporting all in realizing their potential.
The Communities to Careers suite of pipeline programs is aimed at growing a health care workforce that is a diverse as the communities it serves. By inspiring and supporting individuals of all ages around the state, Communities to Careers develops health professionals that give back to their communities in substantial ways.
The UNM STEM-H Center is a diverse portfolio of dynamic, signature regional pre-college STEM competitions, professional development training, resource-rich websites, & equipment/curricula reaching thousands of students/educators annually.
ENLACE is a statewide collaboration of “gente” who represent children and families who traditionally had no say in policy initiatives that directly impact their communities. More than 60,000 New Mexican students have benefited from ENLACE, including more than 6,200 who were impacted by direct service programs.
The HRSA funded New Mexico Workforce Diversity Center of Excellence is a catalyst for institutionalizing its commitment to diversity and health equity. The purpose of NM COE is to strengthen the UNM Health Sciences Center capacity to produce a quality health professions workforce that represents the racial and ethnic diversity of the State.”
