The University of New Mexico gives us a well-rounded training experience, with a good work-life balance and good resident/attending camaraderie. My favorite experiences have been hanging out with co-residents outside of work. We have a group that works out together in the mornings, and we have also formed softball and volleyball teams. There are a lot of great outdoor activities to do in Albuquerque. There's also great weather, good traffic, and low cost of living. My wife Ashley is an OBGYN resident, who is from Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have a lot of friends and family here and have enjoyed our time here in Albuquerque. My hobbies and interests outside of medicine include basketball, running, cycling, and weight lifting.
