As a nurse educator and family nurse practitioner, Amanda Dunn supports student success and prepares future health professionals for collaborative, patient-centered practice through curricular, extracurricular and IPE Honors experiences. She also builds academic-community partnerships that strengthen student learning and expand access to care for New Mexico’s underserved communities. Her scholarship focuses on interprofessional education, educational innovation and planetary health.
Sarah Llanque-White is an Aymara South American Indian and Filipino. She has experience in emergency, ambulatory and Alzheimer's care and has worked on the Navajo Nation, in Gallup and Crownpoint. She also maintains her clinical skills by working part time as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Albuquerque Indian Health Clinic.
Monique Torrez originally relocated to New Mexico for nursing school, but stayed for the community she found here. She has been a Nurse Educator at the UNM College of Nursing since 2022, spending much of her time working directly with students in the lab, simulation and clinical settings. Her nursing practice and teaching philosophy are grounded in Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring, approaching each student relationship through the simple idea of humans caring for other humans and meeting students where they are in their nursing education. Monique is also a second-year nurse-midwifery student at the UNM College of Nursing and a recipient of the AMOR grant. Her practice is driven by a commitment to health equity, particularly in rural maternity care and building New Mexico’s nursing workforce capacity to serve underserved communities.
