Field Investigator Training

The Office of the Medical Investigator continuously recruits for talented and dedicated individuals to conduct death investigations in various counties around the state.  We conduct four training classes a year for new newly employed Field Deputy Medical Investigators.  Individuals who are interested should submit an application for employment at https://unmjobs.unm.edu/ or they can contact the department for more information.

Forensic Science Seminar

Various courses are designed by the faculty and staff of the NM OMI to familiarize participants with the death investigations system, the role of the medicolegal death investigator, and various forensic topics.  All levels of heath care professionals, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement personnel, and individuals interested in the field of forensics are invited to attend.  There are no current courses scheduled at this time, but they will be posted on this site when they become available.  Please check back with us in a few months.
