NSF
The National Science Foundation awards grants and cooperative agreements for research and education in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering. Most NSF funding opportunities are divided into broad program areas: Biology, Computer and Information Sciences, Education, Engineering, Geosciences, Math, Physical Sciences, Polar Research, Science Statistics, Social, and Behavioral Sciences.
HRSA
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for improving access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated or medically vulnerable.
DoD
The Department of Defense (Army) Basic Research Program supports a research program across the science and engineering fields that are most important to defense needs. The DoD investment is predominantly in engineering and the physical, environmental, math and computer sciences. Grant applications submitted to the Department of Energy Office of Science must fit within these program areas: Biological and Environmental Research , Basic Energy Sciences, High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics, Advanced Scientific Computing Research, Fusion Energy Sciences, and Planning & Analysis.
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
Grants for enabling technologies, community health, and emergency relief organizations are available through Requests for Proposals (RFPs) only. Grants for research related to selected diseases, particularly infectious diseases, are funded primarily through Letters of Inquiry.
Pfizer MAP Grants
Pfizer Inc, through its Public Health Group, awards Medical & Academic Partnerships (MAP) grants for research and education in academic medicine, health literacy, and public health.
American Heart Association
The American Heart Association awards grants related to cardiovascular function and disease, stroke or to related clinical, basic science, bioengineering/biotechnology, and public health problems - all basic disciplines as well as epidemiological, community and clinical investigations that bear on cardiovascular and stroke problems.
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Users can also receive funding information automatically via email through SMARTS, the SPIN Matching and Researcher Transmittal System.

Midas Databases of Funding Sources is an online service supported by the UNM Office of the Vice President for Research and Econnomic Development (OVPRED) which allows the UNM community to search a wide variety of databases for funding information and opportunities including grants, contracts, fellowships and sponsored support. Users can also access and search relevant funding publications via Midas.
