This study aims to understand the demographic, psychosocial, legal, and mental and behavioral health characteristics of Native American youth in two New Mexico state-run institutions for juvenile offenders and to examine gender differences among the characteristics.
Secondly, to examine ways in which a community coalition of Native American individuals, groups, and nation can support and advocate for Native American juvenile offenders.
