Welcome to the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center (HSLIC)
New Mexico's Only Publically Accessible Library for Health Information
Welcome to the Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center! We partner with the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Population Health, and the School of Medicine to improve health and health equity across our state through education, research, clinical care, and community engagement. As the only publicly accessible academic health sciences library in New Mexico, we have a special role in providing health information access and health literacy skills and training for our community.
We want HSLIC’s online and physical spaces to be welcoming, inclusive, and informative, and we strive to provide responsive, high quality services that connect people with information and information skills and enhance the success of our students, researchers, clinicians, and communities. Our team is known for their deep integration into our health sciences schools’ curriculum, including a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and critical appraisal, as well as providing valuable workshops and learning opportunities to build skills holistically. From workshops on creating zines to sessions on health literacy, our faculty and staff’s creativity and expertise helps all the members of the HSC community become life-long learners.
HSLIC expertise is evident in our many collaborations and services. We offer research consultations, custom classes, literature search assistance and guidance, and general help and assistance with finding and using health information. Our public services team can be contacted via chat, email, phone, or of course, by stopping by.
We look forward to working with you!
