The University of New Mexico College of Population Health has received continued accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for the next seven years.
The accreditation follows a comprehensive review process that included an institutional self-study, opportunities for stakeholder feedback and a CEPH reaccreditation site visit held Oct. 2-3, 2025. The process evaluated COPH’s academic programs, policies, practices and commitment to meeting nationally recognized standards for public health education.
Receiving a seven-year accreditation term reflects the quality and strength of COPH’s academic programs and the collective work of faculty and staff throughout the college. Their dedication to education, research, student success and service helps ensure COPH continues preparing public health and population health professionals to serve communities throughout New Mexico and beyond.
The Council on Education for Public Health is an independent accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. CEPH accreditation provides assurance that public health schools and programs meet established standards for quality, academic rigor and continuous improvement.
