Our Commitment

Guiding Principles

The College of Population Health (COPH) centers the following commitments:

COPH strives to build focused, systematic, and sustained programs that are aligned with: representational diversity, inclusive working and learning environments, and structural and cultural competence in the service of the communities and groups of New Mexico.
Our commitment to diversity includes race, ethnicity, gender and gender identity, religion, socio-economic status, age, geography of origin and residence, sexual orientation, disability, work style and other aspects of human attributes and behaviors.
We support a land and labor acknowledgment that recognizes Black Americans and respects Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land and the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories.

Call to Action

It is the collective responsibility of the entire UNM College of Population Health community to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. All we do together, including teaching, research, leadership, mentoring, supervision, innovation and service, needs to be based on our collaborative work to enhance the success of teachers, staff, and students.
