2019 Annual Women’s Health Conference: Caring for Women Through Their Life Span

Conference Description

The 2019 Annual Women’s Health Conference: Caring for Women through Their Life Span is intended for physicians, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and related health care professionals to gain comprehensive insight into identified clinical issues that uniquely affect women and women’s health.  This conference addresses rapid advances in evidence-based care, institutional and health care policy, and social determinants that affect women’s health through continuing education. Nurses are highly skilled in the provision of care to women in a variety of settings. The diversity of patients from gender identification, medical history (cancer), incarcerated, behavioral choices (obesity and substance dependency) are creating more challenges for health professionals of women’s health care. These are not topics commonly taught during education but impact greatly on patient compliance and satisfaction with care.

Conference Objectives

1. Demonstrate key clinical skills and communication strategies in medical care and emergencies.

2. Integrate newer concepts and testing into clinical practice in an appropriate and cost effective manner.

3. Identify partnering opportunities in the provision of women’s health care in the current environment of patient expectations and government regulations.
