  • Federal laws concerning compliance - whether they apply to research, HIPAA privacy and security, billing and coding - require training for all staff to make sure that they understand those regulations, policies and procedures that govern activities in their daily jobs.

  • There are legal penalties including fines and even jail time for health care workers who do not follow Federal laws and regulations.

  • These penalties apply to managers who fail to provide policies, procedures and training and they apply to staff who ignore the regulations.

  • UNM provides online training to ensure compliance with Federal regulations and to help employees maintain the competencies that they need to do their jobs.
