Student Veterans and Servicemembers
The University of New Mexico, College of Nursing is dedicated to supporting the needs of veterans and those currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. Service members are supported by faculty and staff that are fellow veterans who understand your need to purse higher education as you build your career. At UNM, veterans, active duty servicemembers, reserve guard, separated, and retired military members as well as their dependents will find an active Student Veterans Organization and an outstanding Veterans Resource Center which is a centralized resource department serving all of UNM's active and former military service members.
Albuquerque is a military city, with Kirtland Air Force Base just minutes from campus. Unlike universities located far from a military operation, you can take advantage of the urban city living and health services available at New Mexico VA Health Care System. In addition to Kirtland Air Force Base here in Albuquerque, New Mexico is also home to Holloman Air Force Base, Cannon Air Force Base, and White Sands Missile Range.
