Advanced practice nurses in New Mexico are considered licensed independent practitioners.
Second-degree or post-masters students welcome. You only need an ADN + BS or BA. Options available for RNs with a BS or BA.
Hybrid learning for APRN classes. There is both synchronous, evidence-based online education and hands-on teaching and simulation.
Small cohorts. Intimate class sizes allow for individual attention and community building.
I chose to go to UNM College of Nursing because of the focus on the needs of the rural communities and underserved populations. I find that in working with underserved communities I am making a positive impact on future vulnerable generations.
Lucky for you, students may take graduate courses without a clinical component if they are not licensed to practice nursing in the state of New Mexico.
