Urology
Thomas A. Borden passed away peacefully in his home on February 4, having fought the good fight for some time. Borden served as professor and chief of urology and program director for urology at UNM from 1973 to 2005. He ranks as one of the longest serving chiefs of urology and program directors in the country. As a pediatric urologist, Borden treated thousands of children at The University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital. He remained in active practice until shortly before his death.
He is survived by his two children, Christopher and Catherine; son-in law Robert Hise; and granddaughter, Zada-Jeanne. He was loved by many and will be equally missed by many.
