Dr. Hoekstra operated on my hip 40 years ago when I was 15. It was at Keesler Air Force base in Biloxi, Miss. He revised and re-fused my congenitally dislocated hip. Throughout the years, the many orthopedic doctors and other healthcare providers I have seen have been impressed with how good my fusion was and how well I did with it. I have always wanted to let Dr. Hoekstra know how much I appreciated his good work. I am sorry to be too late. However, I would like his family to know of my gratitude.
Dr. Hoekstra performed spinal cord surgery due to scoliosis on me in 1983. I remember how kind he was to me and my Mom. The surgery went well and I healed quicker than I was supposed to. I was supposed to wear the brace for 9 months and he took it off at 6 months. GOD bless you Dr. Hoekstra. Rest In Peace.
