Dr. McDonald was an Assistant Professor of Radiology at UNM from 1973 until 1980. She was raised in Albuquerque during the 1930s while her father was head of the Albuquerque VA hospital. She graduated from Marquette Medical School in 1950 as one of only eight females in a class of 92 medical students. Dr. McDonald trained in California, completing her radiology residency at the VA Hospital in San Francisco. She then completed one year of additional training at Children's Hospital in San Francisco. Dr. McDonald is remembered as a sensitive, caring, and dedicated individual.
