Dr. Newville was born in Augusta, Georgia and grew up in nearby Aiken, South Carolina. She graduated from Emory University in 1984 and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1987 to finish medical school.
Dr. Newville practiced medicine in Albuquerque for over 25 years, both as a member of the faculty of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and in private practice. She served as chief of the hospitalist division and vice-chief of staff at the Sandoval Regional Medical Center of the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Newville was dedicated to the practice of medicine and treasured her work seeing patients and working with other members of the greater Albuquerque medical community. She was much loved by her patients, their families and all who worked with her.
