Hello! My name is Holly Kastendieck, and I am thrilled to be joining UNM’s Family Medicine Residency program! I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and completed both my undergraduate and medical school education at UNM through the Combined BA/MD Program. My passion for family medicine was inspired by my father, who is also a family physician. Watching him build deep, long-term relationships with his patients showed me the power of compassionate, holistic care and reinforced my attraction to this field. Family has always been a core value of mine, and I am excited to care for patients across generations. My interests include women’s health, adolescent medicine, mental health, and caring for marginalized populations. I am also passionate about advocacy and addressing social determinants of health to enhance the overall well-being of my patients. I am incredibly honored to stay in my home state and continue serving the people of New Mexico. Outside of medicine, I enjoy baking, gardening, and spending time with my shih tzus.
