A Message from the Program Director:

So, you have determined that pathology is the field of medicine best suited to you. Your next decision is: "Which training program should I select?" You'll be spending four years at one program establishing the knowledge base for a rewarding and challenging career. Obviously, you desire the best education possible. The program at UNM offers a superb educational experience with the benefit of the beautiful Southwest.

Application Process

Although we would love to show applicants our program and city in-person during interviews, we strive to promote equity in all aspects of our process, and will follow the general recommendations below:

All residency interviews should be conducted virtually.
In-person program-sponsored events should not occur during the current interview season.
Virtual meetings with a resident or program leadership for "second looks" are acceptable.
Applicants may independently choose to visit a city as part of their decision-making process during the interview season but they should not request to participate in, nor should they be offered, in-person program-sponsored events.

We will only be accepting applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
