Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: I chose UNM for residency for a plethora of reasons. Some of the big ones were the diverse, underserved patient population that I would get to take care of, the variety of patient pathology and opportunities for autonomy, and the culture of UNM I experienced in interview season, with its sincere emphasis on patient-centered-care, resident wellness, and academic excellence. Along with the bonus opportunities for outdoor recreational activities, which is very important to me, UNM's pediatrics residency demonstrated that it is extremely well-balanced and incorporates all of my key values. UNM has an incredible team of brilliant physicians who love to teach and truly go above and beyond for their patients. Every day I am here, I feel more and more blessed to be in this program learning from the best, and I have had so much fun getting to know my fellow hard-working, down-to-earth residents.
