Why UNM is My Choice for Residency: As a native of New Mexico, I was eager to practice in my home state. I love the diverse patient population, including a large Hispanic and Native American populations. I have experienced firsthand the challenges faced by rural and underserved communities in NM and would like to improve access for patients. I also really looked forward to the opportunity to return home and be near family. Not to mention, the food is amazing!

Favorite Things About UNM: I really love the people I work with. I have had a lot of support from both senior residents and attendings while also having autonomy in patient care. I love serving the diverse patient population here in NM.

Favorite Things About NM: The food, especially the chile. There is so much natural beauty in the state with lots of outdoor activities. I love the Sandia Mountains. I love the Bosque. I love the weather.
