Why UNM: A graduate from my med school (shoutout PNWU in central Washington) gave the program a glowing endorsement that has been living up to the hype so far! My fellow interns have been supportive, fun, goofy, and determined. The patients and families that I've met have been engaged in their care and lovely to work with. I've also really appreciated the 'graduated responsibilities' that we get as interns, because we're really just fresh out of medical school and learning so much in these starting months. |
Favorite Things About UNM: Pretty much everything as discussed above. Everyone has been supportive and kind. |
Favorite Things About New Mexico: So far, I'm loving the lack of traffic. I picked a living situation that bike-able to the hospital, which has been awesome. I'm on the fence about the weather, because while it's nice to get some sun, I'm getting cooked and dried out down here in this state. I've been having fun playing pickup soccer, I've already joined an outdoor men's 7v7 league, I like exploring local Thai restaurants, I've adopted a cat, I've playing some pickleball, and I've been gaming. |
