Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Track

At UNM, applicants have the unique opportunity to match directly into our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fast Track, which guarantees placement in both our General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship programs. This pathway is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families and who are committed to pursuing specialized training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

As a Fast-Track resident, you will benefit from enhanced exposure to pediatric populations throughout your training. During your internship year, you will spend additional time on pediatric medical and neurological services, as well as on inpatient psychiatry and consult-liaison psychiatry rotations that serve children and adolescents. We are also expanding mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities within our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division to further support residents in the Track.
