Otolaryngology Residency Program

Welcome to The University of New Mexico School of Medicine Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Residency program! We take pride in our ability to create the optimal learning environment for our residents. Camaraderie, service to our community including diverse and underserved patient populations, and our sense of group purpose are the hallmarks of this residency program. We actively seek diversity in our residents and strive for equity in our residency application process.

We match two residents per year, with no fellowship trainees, and our hospitals are the primary referral center for Otolaryngology for the entire state of New Mexico.  In addition, UNMH is a safety net hospital tasked to care for all patients who come to us, regardless of insurance or socioeconomic status. These factors lead to a tremendous volume and diversity of patients, diagnoses and training opportunities.  All of our faculty are strongly committed to our mission, and we take pride in our ability to provide care for underserved populations.
