In order to be eligible for the Combined BA/MD Degree Program, students must meet the following criteria:

There are pre-set minimum test scores necessary to start in the curriculum, therefore, failure to achieve these minimum scores will result in application disqualification.
The UNM Combined BA/MD Degree Program uses a holistic approach to admissions and considers all aspects of an applicant’s background, experience, and academic progress, including:
All applicants who submit a completed application and meet the minimum test score requirements before the application deadline will be invited for two separate interviews with members of the BA/MD Admissions Committee.
Students who are accepted into the BA/MD Degree Program with an ACT math sub-score between 22-25 or SAT math sub-score between 540-619 will be required to attend a UNM-Main Campus College Algebra class (MATH 1220) as well as Foundations of Science (HMHV 1150) over the summer prior to beginning the BA/MD curriculum in the fall.
Students accepting a position in the UNM Combined BA/MD Degree Program are required to attend UNM School of Medicine and may not apply to any other medical schools.
Students accepting a position in the UNM Combined BA/MD Degree Program will be required to sign a Statement of Commitment.
