Outcomes Summary & Evaluation Summary Definition and Policy
Evaluation Summary (ES)
Compilation of data from Learning & Feedback forms (L&FF)
Evaluation Summary reports are due for live courses (LC), regularly scheduled series (RSS), and blended or other learning (BOL) activities on a semi-annual basis or after each event or activity.
Outcomes Summary (OS)
Includes analyses of gap closure and changes in competence, performance, or patient outcomes
Outcomes Summary reports for RSS and enduring material (EM) activities are due on the last day of February for the previous calendar year.
Analyses of gap closure and changes typically draw on L&FF data that is already summarized in the ES and may also include the impact of supplementary learning materials provided after the activity and/or data from follow up participant surveys or patient/population-health data.
If the EPF commits to evaluating changes in performance or patient/learner outcomes, those data will be collected at some point following the event and will also need to be included in the Outcomes Summary.
Faculty Planners will submit an OS for LC or BOL activities either after the activity concludes during the year or by the February due date.
For multiple LC or BOL applications for a repeating activity, planners can create one OS to include all the data and analysis from all activities and upload it into each of the LC or BOL Outcomes Summary requests.
