The Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) at the University of New Mexico administers 76 residency and fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), one program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), and one program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP).
Following graduation from medical school, residents may enter one of our core residency programs. Upon completion of a core program, many physicians choose to further specialize through one of our fellowship opportunities. Each GME program is led by a dedicated program director and supported by experienced program coordinators.
The GME Office provides comprehensive support for all residents and fellows, offering services that include benefits administration, web-based didactic resources, and oversight through the Graduate Medical Education Executive Committee and other institutional GME committees.
