Badging issues are prioritized during office hours. If your badge has been lost or it is not working, please contact OMSA for a form to take to the HSC Security Badging office. Please note that OMSA cannot request special access beyond original permissions. The department coordinator arranges additional access if needed during specific rotations (surgery, psychiatry, etc.) limited to the duration of your block.
Regarding SRMC Badging - OMSA is unable to assist with badging for experiences at SRMC outside of the designated and pre-planned clinical curriculum. Non-curricular activities must be arranged between the mentoring physician's department and SRMC security at their discretion and may take 1-3 weeks to authorize.
Throughout your medical education, you will need documents for various curricular activities, scholarships, visiting student learning opportunities, other academic opportunities, and family support. OMSA can provide letters of enrollment, good standing, or explanation, unofficial transcripts, NMDOH background clearance letters, UDS clearance letters, OSHA training verifications, and UNM's insurance evidence of coverage certificate. When requesting, please include the specific request, and be sure to include your class and Banner ID #.
For inquiries regarding Powerchart / Cerner access, please contact Emily Grunberger, egrunberger@salud.unm.edu. The “Online PowerChart Training for Medical Students” course on Learning Central must be completed before access is granted. Students are not typically given access until Transitions, when they are preparing for clinical rotations as part of the curriculum. Earlier access for projects can be arranged, but please provide Emily with student names and Banner IDs, the department, mentor name(s) and the reason for the request in your initial communication.
Alternatively, please have the department you are working with send a copy of your badge (both front and back) to UHexternaluser@salud.unm.edu, and in the email write "Powerchart Access,” along with your salud email address and a phone number where you can be reached with login information.
OMSA is able to provide students with unofficial transcript copies upon request.
Official Transcript requests must be ordered through the UNM Office of the Registrar using the Parchment service. When completing the request, enter contact information to send transcripts directly to the requesting board, program or department. Please do not direct official transcripts to this office. Mailed transcripts arrive in a sealed, plain envelope, with only the recipient’s address visible. If acceptable, official PDF versions are available. All coursework completed at UNM is included on official transcripts. Transcripts with a "Degree Awarded" notation are final for that degree.
For inquiries regarding UWorld subscription processing, please contact Shawna Minion in UME, SMinion@salud.unm.edu.
Please note that "Boards and Beyond" and “Pathoma” are no longer supported by UNM.
