Students must arrive no later than 4:00 PM
Ceremony starts promptly at 5:00.
Tickets are required for everyone, including students. If you have not gotten a ticket please email amabeyta@salud.unm.edu before September 27, 2024 at 8:00 AM.
Students are required to wear their nursing scrubs during the ceremony. The dress code will be strictly enforced, and no exceptions will be made. Partner school students, please wear your school-specific colors.
Your scrub jackets will be waiting for you at the venue.
4:00 PM Check-In
Students will pick up their index card with their name and phonetic spelling listed on it. Verify the information before taking the card. Keep the card! You will hand your card to the Associate Dean to announce your name as you cross the stage.
Next, pick up your white coat from the UNM faculty in the designated area.
4:30 PM Review
A faculty member will go over the processional and instructions for the ceremony.
4:45 PM Line Up
There is no particular order for you to line up in. You may sit next to whomever you’d like. Neatly drape your (UNBUTTONED) jacket across your left arm (UNM logo facing up) before processing into the auditorium.
5:00 PM Nursing Pledge Ceremony
Crossing the Stage
Marshals and staff will assist and direct. Crossing the stage will be from right to left. At the appropriate time, the first row will stand, and individually, each student will walk toward the stage and up the stairs. Please follow the Marshals' directions.
Coating
Drape your unbuttoned (UNM logo facing up) scrub jacket over your left arm with your name card in the right hand. At the podium, give the Associate Dean your name card. After they announce your name, proceed toward the center of the stage, hand the BSN Program Director your coat, and turn toward the audience. They will assist you with putting the coat on. A photo will be taken. Walk toward the Dean – shake hands – the photographer will take a photo during the handshake and then exit the stage. A marshal will direct you to your seat. After returning to your seat, PLEASE BE SEATED.
Pledge
After the last student has crossed the stage and is at their seat, the Associate Dean will approach the podium. They will then lead you all in reciting the Nursing Pledge, which you will find on the last page of your program.
Group Photo
Please remain in your seats after the ceremony. There will be a group photo taken.
After 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday and all-day Saturday and Sunday, if you have an AIMS, E, G, INS (Rainforest), J, K, L, Lobo Village (which are issued by Lobo Village), P, Q, RIO, South, T, Y (Yale parking structure) parking pass it becomes valid for use in regular parking spaces in most commuter and proximity parking zones.

Paid parking is also available at Cornell Parking Structure for $1.75/half-hour. Automated pay machines accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Cash payments are only accepted at pay stations located on the third floor of the Cornell Structure (these machines only accept $1, $5, and $10 bills and do not give change).
