The University of New Mexico (UNM), College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the CON is a leader and champion in the areas of assessment, accreditation, mentorship, and curricular innovation. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs provides college-level leadership, management, and oversight of all academic affairs of the CON. In this context academic affairs refers to: all activities involving the creation, maintenance, revision, or deletion of curriculum, courses, sequences of courses and programs of study offered by or within the College; all managerial activities related to that curriculum (including periodic assessments, required reporting, and accreditation/licensure requirements); the support of faculty and students in the delivery of that curriculum. This will include student performance reviews and discipline, grade appeals, and other resolutions. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs serves as a key member of CON Leadership team. This includes providing strategic leadership to develop a future vision of the CON to enhance current and emerging programs and the stewardship of resources, personnel, and collaboration within the CON, UNM, and across the state. This position reports to the Dean.

We are currently recruiting a faculty member for a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PC-PNP) Program Coordinator position. The PC-PNP Program Coordinator is responsible for the PC-PNP program of the College. The PC-PNP Program Coordinator ensures that the standards and policies of the College of Nursing, the Health Science Center (HSC), and the University are met in the PC-PNP program, and further that the program achieves the highest standards for Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner education outlined by national bodies in nursing education.
The incoming faculty member will teach and maintain an active CPNP-PC national certification, integrating teaching and clinical experiences to fulfill our educational mission. Responsibilities include facilitating curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the PC-PNP program; classroom and simulation teaching; mentoring, advising and precepting students; assisting with clinical placements, community outreach and overseeing student progress. Additionally, they will participate in program activities and committees to achieve program goals. The primary focus of the position is to teach content and oversee the PC-PNP program. We are currently recruiting a faculty member for the Midwifery Program Coordinator position. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum in accordance with Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) and for working with the Assistant Dean of Professional Graduate Programs to oversee the midwifery program in collaboration with midwifery faculty, within the CON faculty governance structure.
The Midwifery Program Coordinator will lead and facilitate the establishment of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) Endowed Professorship of $500,000 to enhance efforts for recruitment and retention of faculty specializing in midwifery, perinatal health, maternal-child health, and women’s health. The Midwifery Coordinator will also serve as the inaugural BCBSNM Endowed Professor in Midwifery.

The College of Nursing (CON) at UNM Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven, proactive, and resourceful individual for the role of Administrative Officer. This executive support position provides specified administrative and logistical support to the Deans office. Reporting to the Dean and Associate Director of Administrative Operations & Human Resources, this individual will possess outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal), have demonstrated problem-solving ability, display strong organizational and prioritization skills, leverage excellent communication skills, and exercise tact and diplomacy in helping to manage relationships with senior stakeholders, both internal and external. Serves as principal point of contact for complex calendars on an ongoing basis including maintaining information/documents related to Dean meetings, events, and both internal /external affairs. Plans, schedules and organizes various meetings, including agenda preparation, presentation preparation, meeting attendance as required, documentation and distribution of meeting minutes, and the preparation of the Dean for each of these encounters. Answers the Deans incoming calls and triages requests related to the Office of the Dean and serves as an ambassador for the college. The person selected for this position will work closely with the Dean to accomplish daily objectives. Additionally, this individual must be comfortable serving as a liaison between the public, the Dean, and Executive Leadership.
The University of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a Program Specialist that is goal-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated. The Program Specialist will help execute healthcare simulation events and assist with administrative operations of the simulation centers at the direction of the Program Manager.
This role will support Health Sciences Albuquerque and Health Sciences Rio Rancho Simulation centers to address the educational needs of the students across all programs. The Program Specialist will assist in the coordination, setup, implementation, and delivery of clinical skills labs. They will also assist with simulation activity through the application of lab/simulation technologies such as: computers, audio-visual equipment, medical equipment, networking technologies, clinical task trainers, maintenance of low, medium, and high-fidelity manikins, simulation software. Additional duties include inventory maintenance and various lab supplies required to ensure successful, safe and academically appropriate clinical education.
