Division of Gynecologic Oncology
The University of New Mexico Division of Gynecologic Oncology is an integral part of the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our team conducts groundbreaking research to understand women’s cancers and find new and better ways to treat it. We participate in national clinical trial and research programs, which bring advanced treatment options to New Mexico.
Team-Based Care Approach
Our care model focuses on the many needs of cancer patients at the new UNM Women’s Cancer Center. Patients and families receive extensive support through psychology services, social work, patient navigation programs, nutrition counseling and interpreter language services.
Gynecologic oncologists specialize in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancers such as:
- Cervical cancer
- Endometrial cancer
- Ovarian cancer
- Vulvar cancer
Patients also come to us for care of difficult gynecologic surgical problems, molar pregnancy and cancer in pregnancy.
