The student will submit a brief application and informed consent for the interprofessional honors program.

Students will meet the requirements for 5 out of 7 of the following categories (Informative, Elective, Interactive, Executive, Innovative, Initiative, and Immersive/Reflective) and the mandatory Summative survey by the end of their academic program. Students will receive honors cords, certificate of completion, and a letter of recommendation (upon request) after completing the requirements for the program.
Informative (experiences with professionals from different fields in a teaching setting)

Elective (taking one of the Interprofessional Education elective courses)
Examples:
Interactive (interactive interprofessional education student activities)
Examples:
Executive (student leadership in interprofessional education, practice, or community collaboration)
Examples:
Innovative (development & delivery of an interprofessional education activity or outreach)
Examples:
Initiative (interprofessional quality improvement, capstone, or research project)
Health Professional students, residents, and fellows can work on a quality improvement project or interprofessional research practice, roles, and responsibilities. This initiative should highlight the Interprofessional Education Consortium (IPEC) competencies (roles and responsibilities, communication, teamwork, and/or values, ethics, and shared decision-making in a clinical setting or health care system). In addition, participants can work together across disciplines to build a presentation for a conference or deliver an educational offering that addresses one or more of the IPE competencies will also qualify for this category.

Immersive/Reflective (Reflection as a way to explore our experiences of interdisciplinary teams).
4 reflections on clinical rotations. As Health Professional students, residents or fellows engage in interprofessional clinical, internship, clerkships, or fieldwork rotations they will have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences practicing Inter-professionally and gain credit for these experiences. At least 4 clinical rotation evaluations will be required for this category.

Once the requirements are met, students can fill out one final reflection which will notify the IPE program that they intend to graduate with the Certificate of IPE Honors, which must be done 90 days prior to graduation.
