Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship
In this 12-month program, you’ll train in the inpatient Acute Pain Service with adult patients and care for pediatric patients at UNM Children’s Hospital. One day a week, you will rotate in the OR as an attending.
Relaunching in August 2027, the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of New Mexico is dedicated to transforming pediatric care in the Southwest and beyond. Our mission is to train compassionate, highly skilled pediatric anesthesiologists who provide exceptional care to children and families while advancing healthcare equity across New Mexico’s diverse communities.
In this 12-month program, fellows will gain comprehensive clinical experience at UNM Hospital—a Level I trauma and statewide referral center—managing a wide range of complex pediatric cases. The program emphasizes education, not workforce demands, offering protected non-clinical time for research, didactics, and simulation-based learning. With robust faculty mentorship, opportunities for clinical research, and a diverse team of pediatric anesthesiologists and intensivists, fellows are supported in developing expertise, innovation, and leadership in pediatric anesthesiology.
